A SHARED PASSION · A JOURNEY SINCE 2007 · A NEW CHAPTER
The story of Ocean Window began in 2007, when Christine Sinnet Anderegg and Maher Gomaa joined their ideas, experience and love for the Red Sea. From the beginning, they shared the same vision: to create dive safaris that feel personal, relaxed and truly special.
Their first journeys took place aboard a smaller traditional wooden yacht. It was the beginning of something that would grow step by step – with the support of their families, many good friends and guests who returned year after year.
In 2018, Christine and Maher fulfilled a long-held dream and brought the M/Y Ocean Window guests know today to life. Based on their own plans and ideas, they were closely involved in every stage and worked hands-on alongside the shipyard team throughout the construction.
In the final days before her maiden voyage, several loyal guests – many of whom had long since become good friends – came to help prepare the new yacht and get their “baby” ready for her first journey. Everyone worked side by side, giving their time, energy and support wherever it was needed.
It was an exhausting, exciting and deeply rewarding time. Seeing how many people were willing to help and share this important moment with them is something Christine and Maher will never forget.
Their aim was never to accommodate as many guests as possible. They deliberately created a spacious yacht with room to breathe, relax and enjoy time at sea – allowing for smaller groups, more personal attention and the warm, familiar atmosphere that has always been part of Ocean Window.
Over the years, Christine and Maher’s different backgrounds have influenced and complemented one another. Deep local knowledge and Egyptian hospitality came together with a strong sense of reliability, fairness and careful planning. This combination still shapes Ocean Window today.
MAHER’S JOURNEY
Maher’s own journey is closely connected to the story of Ocean Window. He worked his way up from a young seaman to an experienced captain, learning every aspect of life and work on the Red Sea along the way. With his calm nature, sharp mind and years of experience, he also became a thoughtful and successful businessman. Today, he owns a second yacht, which is chartered throughout the year.
Maher is attentive, fair and considered in everything he does. He rarely seeks the spotlight and usually prefers to observe, listen and think before he speaks. But behind his sometimes reserved exterior is a wonderfully warm and very funny person – and anyone who gets to know him soon discovers how much fun and laughter can be shared with him.
A NEW CHAPTER FROM 2027
At the end of 2026, after almost two decades of building Ocean Window together, Christine will step away from business life to devote more of her time to animal welfare in Switzerland.
From 2027 onwards, Maher will take full responsibility for Ocean Window and lead the company into its next chapter together with his experienced Egyptian team. They know the Red Sea, the yacht and the spirit of Ocean Window – and will do everything they can to give every guest a safe, memorable and truly wonderful journey.
The responsibility will change hands, but the heart of Ocean Window will remain the same: genuine hospitality, carefully planned journeys, plenty of space to feel at home and a team that truly cares.
