A once-in-a-lifetime journey into Egypt’s Deep South
This extraordinary liveaboard journey combines some of the most remote and beautiful diving areas in the Egyptian Red Sea with a truly exceptional natural event: the total solar eclipse on 2 August 2027.
Far away from the busy coastal resorts, we will travel south towards Rocky Island, Zabargad and the reefs of the Deep South. During the eclipse, the moon will completely cover the sun and daylight will briefly give way to an unforgettable twilight over the Red Sea. Experiencing this rare moment surrounded by open water and the remote islands of southern Egypt will make this journey truly unique.
Our diving adventure leads us to spectacular offshore reefs, dramatic drop-offs, colourful coral gardens and dive sites that are visited far less frequently than the famous routes further north.
Rocky Island rises from the deep waters of the Red Sea and is surrounded by steep walls covered with beautiful soft corals, large gorgonians and an impressive variety of marine life.
The exposed location and strong currents bring nutrient-rich water to the reef, creating ideal conditions for encounters with pelagic species. Depending on the season and conditions, sharks, tuna, barracudas, turtles and large schools of fish may accompany us along the reef walls.
Diving at Rocky Island can be demanding, but it rewards experienced divers with spectacular underwater scenery and the feeling of exploring one of the wildest areas of the Egyptian Red Sea.
